You can now borrow iPads from Knowledge Services

iPad minis can be borrowed for free from libraries at Hairmyres, Monklands and Wishaw General Hospitals – as well as from Health Improvement at Law House. With this new equipment, Knowledge Services aim to offer all staff at NHS Lanarkshire better access to e-book collections and a wide range of tools, databases and resources to support their work.

This is particularly useful when accessing the new e-books collection Knowledge Services has to offer, including relevant titles on anaesthetics, cancer, healthcare quality, health improvement, and many others. The iPad mini will also allow you to access the wider collection of e-books from the Knowledge Network, which includes key publications such as many of the Oxford Textbooks and Handbooks.

There are also the different point-of-care apps and tools, such as FindforMe, Dynamed, Nursing Reference Centre, BMJ Best Practice and Rehabilitation Reference Centre, which can be accessed in seconds via the iPad.

There is a lot of flexibility on where and how staff use these iPads – for example they can be taken home or work, as long as they are returned in one piece.
