Walking to boost The Haven

There was Kiltwalk success from Team Haven, who took strides to raise money for Lanarkshire charity The Haven.
Last month 32 members of Team Haven took part in various walks consisting of six miles, 12 miles or 26 miles.
Everyone enjoyed the Edinburgh scenery, finished with smiles on their faces, and most reported sore feet.
Staff members and their families, clients, corporate supporters Red Burn Farm, and volunteers all made up the team, who have raised £3900 to date, with money still being collected.
The Haven, which has centres in Blantyre, Wishaw and Forth, runs a children and family service from its Blantyre centre which supports around 30 children each year. This service offers emotional support to young people who are affected by illness and grief in their family.
Caroline Litster, Haven child and family support worker, who took part in the 26-mile walk, said: “Although I found the walk challenging, it was nothing compared with the challenges that our young clients are faced with. Thinking of their courage and bravery was a definite motivation for me to complete the 26 miles.”
