New nurses in post

Over 100 new nurses started work at our three general hospitals.
The newly-qualified nurses, who graduated from the University of the West of Scotland, have boosted nursing numbers at the three acute sites across Lanarkshire.
Irene Barkby, executive director of nursing, midwives and allied health professionals, said: “We are delighted to welcome this group of new nurses into Lanarkshire.
“We hope that they enjoy working in our wards and departments as they settle in to life in a busy hospital. We will provide them with all the essential support and guidance to build on the knowledge and experience they already have as they start their careers as nurses.
Irene added: “This is also great news for our patients, these new nurses will be increasing nurse staffing numbers in key areas and they will be trained to deliver the same high standards of care of our established nursing staff.”
