Margaret is a pharmacy champ

A pharmacy team member with more than 40 years’ service under her belt has received a top industry accolade at the Scottish Pharmacist Awards.
Margaret Crookston played a significant role in establishing a new electronic system for the management of hospital patients’ medicines.
Margaret’s efforts saw her pick up the highly-coveted and prestigious Pharmacy Team Member of the Year Award, sponsored by Alliance Healthcare, at the event – the profession’s leading awards ceremony, which recognises the contribution of Scotland’s pharmacy champions.
The judges were particularly impressed by her ‘ongoing work and commitment’, which, they said, ‘continues to make a significant contribution to the success of the project’.
More than 450 professionals gathered at the annual event at Edinburgh’s International Conference Centre to hear who would walk away with a prestigious ‘Chemi’ award.
Once again this year, a huge number of entries were received from every health board in Scotland across all nine categories: Pharmacist of the Future; eHealth & Innovation; Pharmacy Team Member of the Year; Independent Pharmacy Prescriber; Pharmacy Business Development; Pharmacist of the Year; Management of Long-Term Conditions; Community Pharmacy Team of the Year and Hospital Pharmacy Team of the Year.
