Retirement of Moira McHutchon

Colleagues gathered to pay a fond farewell to district nurse Moira McHutchon who retired in May.

Moira began her nursing career in 1976 as a diploma nurse. After completing her midwifery training in 1981 she worked with the Midlothian out-of-hours service.

In 2000 Moira moved to NHS Lanarkshire where she joined the Forth district nursing team as a district nurse.

In 2013 Moira moved to the Douglas team where she remained until her retirement.

Moira lives with her husband in Braehead and loves the outdoor life such as wild-camping, hillwalking and horse riding. Moira has a deep love of animals and nature and will spend her retirement travelling the country in a newly-adapted camper-van with her husband and dog, Brewster. In her spare time she loves spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and cooking.

Audrey Demetriou, ICST manager, said: “Moira has been a valued and respected member of the team. Morning coffees will finally be what they are meant to be – relaxed and de-stressing. Happy retirement from all your colleagues and friends”.
