Seeking nominations for the William Cullen Prize
The NHS Lanarkshire Board, in partnership with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, is seeking nominations for the 2018 William Cullen Prize. This is awarded to doctors for their excellence and/or exceptional levels of contribution to local teaching or service innovation. A short nomination form can be downloaded here.
Please note that if the doctor has already been nominated for this year’s Staff Awards a separate nomination form is still required for the William Cullen Prize.
Nominations need to be in by Friday the 2nd of March. The winner will be announced at the Staff Awards Ceremony in May this year.
Nomination Criteria
- William Cullen Prize 2018 nomination form
- This award is open to all doctors or MD teams led by doctors
- The award is to be styled as William Cullen [Health Board] prize for teaching/innovation awarded in partnership with RCPE
- It is awarded for excellence and/or exceptional levels of contribution to local teaching or service innovation
- The application processes and selection panel/system are for Health Boards to determine locally – we do not expect to be involved
- Once a provisional selection is made we would request Boards share their decision with us (name, specialty and why they were successful) before finalising, and 6-8 weeks before any intended ceremony, to give us the opportunity to find an appropriate letter from the Cullen collection and arrange for the printing
- We would ask that we agree any media publicity jointly
- We hope that our local Regional Adviser or Council member could be part of any presentation ceremony
