Retirment of Elizabeth (Betty) Blades

Retirment of Elizabeth (Betty) Blades

After 32 years service, medical records supervisor Elizabeth (Betty) Blades retired from NHS Lanarkshire in May.

Betty began her career with NHS working in Gartloch and Woodilee Hospital from 1969 until 1977. In 1993 she started work with Medical Records as a part time clerical officer, becoming a Supervisor in 1994. She has worked in this role at Monklands Hospital until her retirement.

Betty lives in Gartcosh with hubby Charlie who is also retired. Betty can now enjoy her time, reading and taking in more pets for “pet sitting”. There is usually a bird or dog in her house. She also enjoys her holidays in the sun relaxing by the pool reading her books.

Health records manager Anne Baker said “I want to say thanks to Betty for all the excellent work she has done in the department and the support she had given me as a Manager. Wishing her all the best in her retirement, having the time to enjoy all the things she never had the time to do when working.”
