A group of staff from the vascular ward at University Hospital Hairmyres (UHH) helped raise an amazing £4,252 for the charity, Finding Your Feet.

Finding Your Feet provides support to NHS Lanarkshire’s vascular patients who have undergone major lower limb amputations and recently purchased a Femurett – a piece of rehabilitation equipment to facilitate early mobilisation post-op. At a cost of over £7,000, this was a huge contribution and will significantly benefit the amputees through their initial rehabilitation period.

The fundraising drive saw staff participating in several events over the course of April, including completing the 2019 Kiltwalk, and organising an ‘Easter Extravaganza’ which featured competitions, a raffle and the sale of Easter treats.

Corrine Hutton, quadruple amputee and founder of the charity said:Finding Your Feet is delighted to have purchased the Femurett for University Hospital Hairmyres to help amputees on their journey to regaining their independence. The physiotherapists and staff have been huge supporters and we regularly visit to support amputees.”
