Have your say with new staff health survey

NHS Lanarkshire’s Healthy Working Lives (HWL) staff health and well-being survey will launch on 4 November.
The last staff survey, carried out in 2016, revealed that 80 per cent of staff were not meeting current physical activity recommendations. Feedback received identified the need for more opportunities for staff to be more active, more often at work. In response, the HWL team created the ‘Big Team’ walking challenge across NHS Lanarkshire to help staff become more physically active.
2016’s survey also revealed that 7 per cent of staff were smokers and that 35 per cent wanted support to stop. In response, the HWL team ran information campaigns on where staff can access support. The recent ‘Go with Flo’ pilot – where support is sent to a mobile to help individuals stop smoking – was piloted at University Hospital Monklands which resulted in five members of staff successfully quitting. Go with Flo will be available at Universities Hairmyres and Wishaw so look out for support to set a quit date and access the programme.
The 2019 staff health and well-being survey will take around five minutes to complete and will ask questions about health, safety and physical and mental well-being in your workplace. Results from the survey will influence what HWL will develop for staff to make NHS Lanarkshire a safer, healthier and more motivated workforce.
Don’t miss out on your chance to complete the survey – you could be in with a chance to win a prize.
