Salus certified for quality

Salus has become one of the first UK organisations to achieve certification for the quality management systems standard ISO 9001:2015.

The organisation was one of three UK companies independently assessed by BSI (British Standards Institution) and given certification for ISO 9001:2015, a newly-revised version of the internationally-recognised ISO 9001.

Mark Kennedy, Salus general manager, said: “ISO 9001 has provided reassurance to us and our clients for many years that quality management is completely integrated and aligned with the business strategies of our organisation, therefore it was vital that we achieved certification to the new standard.

“One of the main requirements of the new standard is that those at the top of our organisation are involved and accountable, aligning quality with wider business strategy, including systems to identify and then meet or exceed customer requirements.”

As a not-for-profit organisation, Salus operates as a social enterprise, meaning that all surpluses generated are used to enhance NHS services to the community.

ISO 9001 has benefited millions of organisations worldwide with users reporting increased growth and productivity and significantly higher customer satisfaction and retention.

Mike Bailey, director, professional services for Europe, Middle East and Africa at BSI, said: “Salus has been certified to ISO 9001 since 1999 and should be really proud that they are one of the first in the UK to achieve certification to this revised business improvement standard.

“With over one million organisations certified to ISO 9001, it is the world’s leading quality management standard and helps to demonstrate an organisation’s commitment to meeting the needs of their clients and engagement with stakeholders.”
