A positive week in the press

This week’s papers saw a flurry of positive news coverage on NHS Lanarkshire.

The Wishaw Press and Bellshill speaker celebrated the story of a family who returned to Wishaw General who thanked the staff for saving their twin boys lives. The family raised £2,500 to buy a twin cot for the hospital.

The Rutherglen Reformer also praised NHS Lanarkshire for achieving a key national target on cancer waiting times in 2015.

The Bellshill Speaker and Motherwell Times also carried the story of a Holytown woman who praised our new initiative which also families stay with patients who have dementia in their final precious hours.

The Wishaw Press and Rutherglen Reformer announced that a delegation of health professionals and politicians from Finland spent the day touring mental health services in Lanarkshire to find out how inpatient  and community care mental health services are delivered.

This week also saw several letters from patients praising the service that they received from NHS Lanarkshire. All of the letters were in response to last week’s articles regarding waiting times at A&E. All of the letters praised staff for the work that they do in A&E and for the care they were given.
