A positive week in the press
NHS Lanarkshire received a lot of positive coverage in the press this week.
The Bellshill Speaker and Motherwell Times highlighted that Leigh-Ann Johnstone took the prize for Maternity Support Worker of the Year in the Royal College of Midwives Annual Awards.
The Evening Times, Hamilton Advertiser, Bellshill Speaker and Motherwell Times carried the story of a couple who raised over £5,000 in memory of their baby to help create a special haven for other bereaved parents.
Other news included an announcement that construction of the new critical care unit at Monklands Hospital is almost complete.
Lanarkshire residents were also advised that GP surgeries will be closed for four days over the Easter break. The closure will run from 25 March to 28 March.
The Hamilton Advertiser also carried the story from last week where safety officials have completed their 100th walk round to improve patient safety.
