Colleagues gathered to bid farewell to Anne Bartie

Colleagues gathered to bid farewell to treatment room nurse Anne Bartie who retired in May after 18 years service.
Anne, who was based at Strathaven Health Centre, joined NHS Lanarkshire in 1974 when she undertook her nursing training at Stonehouse Hospital.
After qualifying in 1977, Anne joined the ophthalmology unit and, after having her family, returned to Stonehouse Hospital on a nightshift basis. She thereafter worked in Kirkdean nursing Home in Stonehouse before joining the treatment room at Strathaven Health Centre in January 1997 where she remained until her retirement.
Anne is married to George and lives at Kype Reservoir, several miles from Strathaven. They have a few neighbours closeby but are mainly surrounded by countryside and wildlife. They both enjoy visiting cottages up and down the country and hope one day to buy a motorhome and, together with their dog Max, visit more parts of the country. Anne has three daughters Angela, Karen and Lynne who all live in Glasgow.
In her spare time Anne enjoys gardening, walking, holidays and spending time with her mum, taking her shopping and for lunch.
Colleague Ruth Hastings said: “Anne will be missed greatly by both patients and colleagues. Her calm, friendly nature makes her a popular member of staff. We wish her a long and happy retirement and hope she won’t miss us too much”.
