Cycling event – Sunday 23 August
North Lanarkshire Council’s road safety team will host a ‘Let’s get cycling’ event at Broadwood Stadium, Cumbernauld on Sunday 23 August from 10am to 4pm.
The aim of the event is to promote cycling as a healthy activity and raise awareness of all the cycling routes around North Lanarkshire. It will also promote the network of cycle and walking paths around North Lanarkshire where people can enjoy the sport and local environment.
During the free event, children and adults can try bikes of all different shapes and sizes, from mini penny farthings and KMX karts to tandems and rickshaws. There will also be bikes to suit people with disabilities or mobility issues.
Cumbernauld Centurions BMX Club, who are based at Broadwood, will demonstrate their skills at motocross racing and their purpose-built track will be open for taster sessions.
