HEPMA makes progress at UHM

The first phase deployment of the new hospital electronic prescribing and medicines administration (HEPMA) system began in February by upgrading the existing pilot wards at University Hospital Monklands (UHM). Following a short review period, the project advanced to full deployment and has made significant progress with all general inpatient wards at UHM now using the system.
HEPMA lead, Kenneth Mackenzie, said: “I am pleased with how the roll-out has gone so far and would like to express my thanks to both the clinical and management teams at University Hospital Monklands for their continued support. It has been encouraging to see how quickly staff have adapted to using the system as part of their clinical work flows.
Kenneth added: “As a team, we have learned some valuable lessons that have allowed us to adjust our approach and refine deployment processes as we prepare for the next stage of roll-out at University Hospital Hairmyres”.
