Isobel switches to retirement plans

After 38 years’ service, planning manager Isobel Frize has retired.
Isobel began her career with the NHS in 1979 when she was appointed as a clerical officer with the then Glasgow Health Board in the School Health Service, Northern District.
In 1981, Isobel took up the post of deputy administrator at Glasgow’s Blawarthill Hospital before becoming assistant administrator in the Eastern District, Glasgow.
Following a spell with the former NHS Argyll & Clyde, Isobel returned to Glasgow as community administrator for the north, east and west Glasgow before joining NHS Lanarkshire’s planning department in 1989.
After a short spell as deputy administrator at Coathill Hospital, Isobel became NHS Lanarkshire’s planning manager in 1991, a post she held at Beckford Street and latterly at Kirklands Headquarters, until her retirement.
Isobel lives in the West End of Glasgow with her husband Maurice. They have two children, Laura and Ruaridh.
In her spare time, Isobel is a regular half marathon runner and a very keen baker.
Colin Lauder, head of planning and development, said: “Isobel has had a long and successful NHS career. She has been a cornerstone of the planning department for the last 25 years – she will be justifiably proud of all of her achievements and has made a significant contribution to improving patient care. In addition, Christmas nights out will not be the same without her.”
