It’s good to talk – and we can help

A new law has been introduced meaning that anyone who has lost their voice or has difficulty speaking will receive the communication equipment and support that they need. Communications equipment and support for those who have difficulty speaking has changed lives.
Craig Grant, a young man from Airdrie whose life has been improved by using communication equipment, said: “My life changed in February 2016 when I first started using my computer.
“I discovered facebook and this opened up a whole new world for me. I made lots of new friends and reconnected with a lot of old friends and family members. “I can express my feelings whether happy, worried, sad or just discussing all the latest on all my favourite soaps and football results.
“I now have a mobile number installed so I can communicate with others and be more independent when left on my own for a short time. If there was a problem I can contact others quickly.
“My life has completely changed for the better since using my device. This has all been made possible by an amazing therapist who always believed in me and helped me reach for the stars.”
