Colleagues gathered to bid farewell to Janette Tiernan after 38 years service

Friends, family and colleagues gathered to bid farewell to secretary Janette Tiernan who retired in May after 38 years service.
Janette, who was attached to the diabetic service at Monklands Hospital, joined NHS Lanarkshire in 1977 when she was appointed as part-time secretary with the medical unit. After taking some time out to have her family, Janette returned on a full-time basis as a secretary at the Bracco House diabetic centre and remained with the diabetic service until her retirement.
In her spare time Janette enjoys walking, reading, socialising, holidaying and singing.
Janette lives in Airdrie and has two daughters, one of whom (Pamela) works in medical records at Monklands Hospital. She also has two grandchildren Emily (13) and Ethan (6).
Kiran Kunderan, directorate support manager for medical, said: “I have known Janette for the 20 years that I have worked at Monklands and for six of those I have been her manager. She is a hard working, dedicated member of staff who will be greatly missed by all of her colleagues in the diabetic service and throughout the hospital”.
