Joanne Edwards encourages acute teams at Hairmyres to complete iMatter questionnaire

By Joanne Edwards, Director of Hospital Services, Hairmyres Hospital
Acute teams at Hairmyres Hospital are the latest group of staff being asked to have their say on their workplace, as part of the iMatter. All staff taking part at Hairmyres will now have received their questionnaires and have until the 7th August to complete.
iMatter puts the focus at team level with each having their own iMatter report if the response rate from the team is over 60%, so it is important that all staff are encouraged to complete their questionnaire.
The questionnaire takes just 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous. The completed questionnaires are processed by an external company, making it totally confidential.
Completing the questionnaire, either online or on paper, allows you the chance to give feedback on and be involved in influencing change and improvement in your workplace.
iMatter is designed to help your line manager understand what it is like for you as an individual at work, in your teams and in NHS Lanarkshire.
Managers across Hairmyres have attended briefing sessions, so are primed to answer any questions you may have and are ready to discuss the important issues and form an action plan to make improvements.
I am hoping for a good response from staff across the hospital as it is also a chance to celebrate what works well in individual teams.
Whether you think that your staff meetings are excellent, or you feel that communication within your team could be better, it is important that all views are heard and listened to.
I would urge all acute staff at Hairmyres to use this opportunity to shape their workplace, by completing their iMatter questionnaire by 7 August.
