Lanarkshire mental health and well-being strategy development

Lanarkshire mental health and well-being strategy development

A new Lanarkshire mental health and well-being strategy is currently being developed. It will involve service users, carers, NHS Board staff, health and social care partnerships (HSCPs), NHS24, Scottish Ambulance Service and voluntary and third sector organisations to take a population-wide approach to its development and will include work looking at workforce, estates and accommodation as well as:

*  population needs
*  good mental health for all
*  improving access to mental health in primary care settings
*  dementia and mental health
*  children and young people’s mental health
*  specialist mental health services

The development of the strategy presents a unique opportunity to consider existing mental health services and supports and seek public, patient, staff, third sector and wider engagement with health and social care organisational input into the future requirements and models of mental health care and support in Lanarkshire.

Development work has already taken place with further wide partnership involvement also arranged over the coming months.
