Linzi Shields, Pharmacy Student of the Year

In 2016, Linzi Shields was appointed as a student pharmacy technician with the pharmacy department at University Hospital Wishaw (UHW). To qualify as a pharmacy technician, and enable her to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council, Linzi studied towards a national qualification and SVQ level three in pharmacy services.
In June 2019, Linzi qualified and was nominated as ‘Pharmacy Student of the Year’ at Edinburgh College in recognition of her commitment to her work and studies. Linzi stated: “I am really shocked and delighted to be chosen for Student of the Year 2019. I am grateful for the recognition after two years of hard work and look forward to the next step in my career.”
Lynn Hall, chief pharmacy technician at UHW, said: “We are delighted for Linzi and would like to congratulate her on her achievement. We wish her well in her future career as a pharmacy technician.”
