Martha switches from payroll to pension

Colleagues paid a special farewell to Martha Forrest who retired from her post as team leader after a remarkable 42 years’ service.

Martha, who was based within the payroll department at Kirklands Headquarters, joined NHS Lanarkshire in September 1974 as payroll assistant and, over time, worked up to role of payroll team leader.

In November 2005, Martha moved to Monklands Hospital when payroll services relocated.

In December 2014, she moved to Kirkfield Cottage when payroll services centralised to Kirklands, where she remained until her retirement.

Martha has lived in Coltness, Wishaw all of her life. She has one brother who lives in South Africa and is hoping to pay regular visits him following her retirement.

To mark it, Martha joined friends, family and colleagues at a celebratory event in the Radstone Hotel, Larkhall.

Roseann Nelson, payroll manager, said: “Martha has a huge personality and will be greatly missed by all of her friends and colleagues.”
