NHS Education for Scotland are looking for people to join a network of supporters for health literacy.
Health literacy is the range of skills that support people to find health information, understand it and to take action on it in a way that helps improve their health. Therefore, people with lower health literacy skills can be at risk of poor health outcomes if information is not available or provided in a way that is accessible and understandable. We can all suffer from poor health literacy no matter our level of education and general literacy, for example, when hearing new or distressing information.
If you are interested in finding out more about health literacy and how you can access resources and information to provide you with the opportunity to raise awareness and promote health literacy with your colleagues and peers we want to hear from you.
We are offering training and resources to support this role and it is entirely up to what you are able to commit. For further information about this opportunity please contact:
