NHS Lanarkshire continues to raise awareness of Quit Your Way – the free NHS stop smoking services that are available to people trying to stop smoking.

You are twice as likely to stop smoking successfully with the right support from the NHS.

In support of this, NHS Lanarkshire’s tobacco control team, in partnership with hotel services, ran a Quit Your Way campaign using NHS Lanarkshire vans. The vans have been out and about on the road, covering a 100-mile radius across Lanarkshire delivering to a wide variety of health settings.

The campaign provided a great opportunity to promote Quit Your Way services to anyone looking for advice and support. By calling the free telephone number, or by accessing the website, people can explore the many options that are available to them. From going along to a local pharmacy, going online for a live web-chat or by searching online to find the nearest group or drop-in, there is plenty of support for people to choose from.

Gabe Docherty, director of public health and health policy, said: “This campaign is a great way for us to highlight services that are on offer for people living and working in Lanarkshire.

“Giving up smoking is not something people have to do on your own. Quit Your Way offers a wide range of free support services and advice. Stopping smoking is one of the most important things people can do to improve their health and it is never too late to quit.

“My advice to anyone thinking of stopping of smoking is to call the free phone number or go online, the Quit Your Way advisers are with you every step of the way. No pressure, just support.”
