Reading Ahead author events

Reading Ahead is the new name for the Six Book Challenge and supports staff by changing their perception of reading, opening up opportunities and building their confidence.
Run through Knowledge Services, Reading Ahead invites participants to pick six reads and record, rate and review them in a diary in order to get a certificate. The programme isn’t just about books – it’s about newspapers, magazines and websites too. The new name reflects this to help those for whom books might be a barrier to joining in.
Everyone taking part will be invited to attend the Lunch and Learn events below, where they will meet other participants and hear from Scottish authors over a free lunch – hopefully these events will inspire participants to continue reading and perhaps try out new books and genres! A closing event will be held in August and several shopping vouchers are up for grabs via our Prize Draw.
