Linda Stark Retires

Friends, family and colleagues bid a fond farewell to administration assistant Linda Stark who retired from NHS Lanarkshire in April after over 37 years service.
Linda, who was attached to the property and support services division (PSSD) at Law House, began her career in 1970 when she joined NHS Lanarkshire’s public health department at Beckford Street, Hamilton. As a junior entrant, Linda worked in the infection diseases and child welfare clinics.
In 1972 Linda moved to Carluke Health Centre as a clerkess, a position she held until 1978 when she left NHS Lanarkshire to have her family.
In 1985 Linda returned to NHS Lanarkshire where became a domestic assistant at Law Hospital, a role she held for three years.
It was at this point Linda decided to take a year out and became a mature student at Carluke High School, gaining a qualification in ‘O’ Level English.
In 1989 Linda joined the Estates Department at Law Hospital as a clerical assistant and, in 1992, was promoted to higher clerical officer at Strathclyde Hospital, Motherwell.
Linda thereafter moved to the Estates Department at Roadmeetings Hospital before joining PSSD at Law Hospital in 2004, a role in which she remained until her retirement.
Linda lives in Carluke with her husband William. They have two children Nicola (36) and Alan (34). They also have one grandson Kyle and three granddaughters Abby, Eva and Rachel.
To celebrate her retirement, Linda, William and their family have planned a holiday to Cancun in June.
Upon her retirement, Linda intends to spend more time with her grandchildren and visit her son Alan in Sydney, Australia.
