Mary McClelland Retires

Colleagues bid a farewell to Mary McClelland who retired from the NHS in February after 38 years service.

The staff nurse, who was based in the Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU) at Wishaw General Hospital, began her career as an auxiliary nurse within the intensive treatment unit (ITU) at Law Hospital.

After completing her nursing training, Mary worked in both Ward 1 and Ward 8 before transferring to the ACCU at Wishaw General Hospital when it officially opened in 2001.

Mary lives in Law Village and in her spare time enjoys travelling, eating out, walking and gardening.

To celebrate her retiral, Mary will travel to America for a month visiting places such as Philadelphia, Washington and Canada.

Senior charge nurse Anne Stevenson said: “We will all miss Mary but wish her a long and happy retirement”.
