Searching skills training now available

Unsure where to start? Need a refresher or simply suffering from information overload? Group or one-to-one searching skills training is available at a time to suit you.

The training sessions are ideal for staff returning to study, continuous professional development (CPD), conducting audits, undertaking research or those just looking to improve their skills.

Sessions will cover:

  • Open discussion to understand learner’s needs and priorities, adapting each session accordingly
  • Introduction to the Knowledge Network
  • Building a solid search strategy and conducting a more efficient search
  • Undertaking searches on key databases and resources (for example Medline, Cinahl, Cochrane, Dynamed and more)
  • Evaluation and management of key information found

Sessions are available to all NHS Lanarkshire staff including placement, community, bank and acute staff. To arrange a session, please email libraries@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk
