Shona McNally retires

Healthcare assistant Shona McNally retired from NHS Lanarkshire in August after 34 years service.

Shona, who was based at Douglas Street Community Health Clinic, joined NHS Lanarkshire on 4 May 1981 and worked at Lockhart Hospital in a full-time capacity for 10 years before having her daughter Rachel.

Shona returned to work on a part-time basis, a role in which she remained for 12 years.

In April 2003, Shona left Lockhart Hospital to join the district nursing team in Hamilton where she provided assistance to health visitors.

Shona joined the treatment room in Lanark in April 2008 before transferring to Hamilton treatment room in January 2013 where she remained until her retirement.

Shona lives in Cambusnethan with her husband Boyd.  In her spare time she enjoys walking, reading and eating out.

Team leader Karen Stewart said: “Shona is a valued member of the treatment room staff and will be sadly missed. We wish her well in the new chapter of her life”.
