Staff training events on realistic medicine

NHS Lanarkshire will hold three staff training events on realistic medicine.
The aims of the events are to:
- introduce staff to the realistic medicine (RM) programme/team
- explore models for enhancing shared decision making
- demonstrate key initiatives in Scotland and Lanarkshire
- facilitate discussion topics, e.g. addressing unwarranted variation
- generate ideas for embedding RM in routine practice
By the end of the training, attendees should:
- be familiar with key concepts and terminology in RM
- understand the importance and principles of shared decision making
- understand the Atlas of Variation programme and its goals
- be able to share their training with other members of their team.
The events will be held as follows:
- Friday 26 April, Edward Lawson Centre, Wishaw, 9.30am–12.30pm
- Wednesday 22 May, METC Kirklands Headquarters, 9.30am-12.30pm
- Friday 14 June, lecture theatre, University Hospital Monklands, 1pm-4.15pm
