Tasty fundraising event for The Haven
Congratulations to Lynn Stewart and colleagues at Wishaw General, who held a bake sale to raise funds for The Haven charity and collected over £500.
Organiser Lynn, clinical quality co-ordinator (cancer) in the Clinical Quality Team at Wishaw, said: “We put different charities in a hat and The Haven was pulled out.
“We all came together and did home baking, donated raffle prizes and decorated the office.”
The Haven is a Lanarkshire charity offering support for those with life-limiting illness and has one of its bases at Wishaw General.
The Haven offers a programme of support designed to help individuals cope with the physical, emotional and practical aspects of their illness and to enable them to face the future with hope. The Haven operates as a drop-in centre with no need for medical referral and all services are provided free of charge. The Haven team of specialist nurses, therapists, and volunteers work closely together to provide the highest standard of care.
