Treatment for hepatitis

NHS Lanarkshire has a number of treatment services for those who have been diagnosed with hepatitis.
After a patient has been tested and diagnosed as positive, they can be referred to these services to be further assessed and to discuss treatment options.
Treatment for Hepatitis C has developed significantly over the last few years and is now highly effective in providing a cure for the majority of patients with the virus.
There are two specialist treatment centres in Lanarkshire: the BBV service and the Hepatitis service.
Both of these centres offer a wide range of multi-disciplinary services that support patients living with and affected by hepatitis. These include specialist consultants, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, psychologists and psychiatrists.
The centres work closely with the third sector and local authority services to provide support and care for patients before, during and after their treatment.
