This week saw NHS Lanarkshire praised for winning prestigious awards.

The Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser and Wishaw Press highlighted that an innovative community group geared to helping people living with dementia has taken top honours at Scotland’s Dementia Awards. The Lanarkshire project saw a range of shops, services and businesses sign up to  support people with dementia, their families and carers.

The Cumbernauld News, Motherwell Times and Bellshill Speaker featured another award that NHS Lanarkshire won. This time the award was for a partnership project with Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.

The Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser, East Kilbride New, Motherwell Times and Wishaw Press carried a story announcing that Maggie’s Lanarkshire in the grounds of Monklands Hospital has been shortlisted for the 2015 Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award.

Other stories included NHS Lanarkshire backing the efforts of Breast Cancer Care Scotland during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Rutherglen Reformer and Hamilton Advertiser also featured a story encouraging those eligible for a free flu vaccine to make sure they get it.
