Jabs mean prizes!

Jabs mean prizes!

This year, we are offering prizes, including cash prizes, to staff who have had their flu jab.

The more staff who get vaccinated, the better the prizes will be.

The prizes will be revealed when the percentage of staff vaccinated reaches key milestones. The first prize will be announced when 25 per cent of the workforce have received the vaccine.

The winners will be identified from those who have already had their flu jab at that point.

Staff in hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies, dental surgeries and other NHS Lanarkshire sites are encouraged to get the vaccine annually as it provides the best defence against flu.

All staff are eligible for the jab and it’s particularly important for patient-facing colleagues to get vaccinated, as they could pass the flu virus on to their patients and family even if they have very mild symptoms.

Kay Japp, Principal Occupational Health Advisor, said: “The flu vaccine only takes a few minutes to receive but it will protect you for around 12 months and reduce the potential spread of the virus to vulnerable patients.

“It is important to get vaccinated each year as the flu virus can change. It is best to get the vaccine as early as possible.

“I encourage all NHS Lanarkshire staff to take up the offer of the free flu vaccine and play their part in ensuring Lanarkshire’s healthcare system remains healthy over the busy winter flu season.”

For your chance of winning, get your flu jab now.

    Hi

I must have been one of the first staff to have my flu injection. As the practice nurse informed me of the first clinic which was 27th September 2017, so I had it done then by the practice nurse. I think it is necessary to get the flu injection as I work in the main reception of the health centre and come in contact with lots of people and staff every day.
