Plenty of positive coverage about our campaigning and awareness work

There was plenty of positive coverage about our campaigning and awareness work this week.
The Hamilton Advertiser told how Lanarkshire hospitals are gearing up to celebrate World Sepsis Day with a series of awareness events next week to highlight work being carried out to cut the rates of the deadly infection.
A number of local papers covered our promotion of Suicide Awareness Week, involving events run jointly with North and South Lanarkshire councils and other partners.
The Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser, the East Kilbride News and the Motherwell Times were among those highlighting NHS Lanarkshire’s call for people to sign up to the organ donor register as part of National Transplant Week.
There was continued coverage of the good work that is being undertaken at Wishaw General Hospital in the field of dementia, with the nomination of The Club for the Best Acute Care Initiative and the fact that the hospital is the first in Scotland to sign up to John’s Campaign.
Celebrations to mark the first birthday of Maggie’s Lanarkshire at its award-winning home at Monklands Hospital drew positive reports from the Hamilton Advertiser and the Evening Times.

There was more negative publicity in The Herald and the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser about weekly accident and emergency waiting times. As we know, these statistics vary week by week and clinical and managerial staff are continuing to work together closely to make our unscheduled care performance even better
