Speech therapist gives her farewell speech

Friends and colleagues paid a fond farewell to speech and language therapist Annette Beat on her retirement.
Annette, who was based at Carluke Community Health Centre, spent most of her career working in Lanarkshire.
Annette worked in community clinics, schools and nurseries across the Clydesdale locality with children and young people experiencing speech, language and communication needs.
She also worked in partnership with paediatrician colleagues to support the autism diagnostic service and developed close working relationships with colleagues in health and education.
Annette lives in Carluke and has a daughter Debbie, son Stuart and granddaughter Emelia. In her spare time she enjoys baking and sewing, particularly quilting.
Lucy Scott, line manager, said: “Annette has been a dedicated, caring and highly skilled member of the speech and language therapy team. We are all delighted that Annette can savour spending time with her family and doing the things she enjoys in her retirement but she will be very much missed.
“The fact that Annette was nominated and has been shortlisted as a finalist for a staff award is testament to her professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond for patient care.”
